The Walking Dead, Telltale Games' "emotionally gripping journey," is USA Today's game of the year, according to an article published online yesterday.
"Next time anyone questions the video game industry's ability to tell stories akin to movies and television, point them to Telltale Games' brilliant interactive adventure," the newspapers's editors wrote about the episodic adventure game set amid the zombie apocalypse.
The Walking Dead's successful march through the awards season began in early December when it won Game of the Year at the Spike TV Video Game Awards. Metacritic announced just this week that The Walking Dead was last year's best-reviewed game.
Other games included in the nation's most widely distributed print newspaper's top dozen list include Mass Effect 3, Halo 4 and Journey.
