Dust 514 now in open beta, launch trailer demonstrates the camaraderie of war

New, comments

Dust 514, the free-to-play massively multiplayer first person shooter set in the Eve Online universe, is now in open beta, CCP announced

The game has been in closed beta for the better part of the year. As an immortal clone solider, Dust players accept contracts to earn in-game cash, upgrade weapons and skills and much more.

Dust 514's battles are fought on Eve planets; players of both games can interact and provide real-time support. CCP Games merged the servers for PC MMO Eve Online and Dust 514 on Jan. 10, creating shared mail, text and voice chat, corporations and more between both titles. The launch trailer, shown above, demonstrates how players can forge alliances.

Dust 514 is a PlayStation 3 exclusive, and the beta can be downloaded directly from the PlayStation Network store for free. According to the PlayStation Blog, there will be no more character wipes or inventory resets.
