Surface with Windows 8 Pro launch pushed to February

Microsoft's Surface with Windows 8 Pro will launch in North America on Feb. 9, one month after its initially planned January release, the company announced.

As was previously announced in November by general manager of Microsoft Surface Panos Panay, Surface with Windows 8 Pro will be available for purchase at a starting price of $899, with two models available at launch. The first, at the lower $899 price point, is a 64GB standalone version.

The second, priced at $999, is a 128GB version. Both of these coming with a Surface pen with Palm Block technology that detects when the user's hand has accidentally touched the device's screen while writing, as well as the ability to use a Touch Cover or Type Cover. The latter two are sold separately at $120 and $130, respectively.

A European launch date has yet to be announced.
