Some PlayStation 3 owners who pre-ordered the deluxe "Wizard's Edition" of Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch from Namco Bandai's Club Namco store are receiving word that their orders have been canceled and they won't be getting a copy of the game.
That's upsetting many customers who now have little recourse in finding another copy of the sold out deluxe edition of Ni no Kuni.
According to publisher Namco Bandai, the distributor of Ni no Kuni's "Wizard's Edition," Digital River, suffered a "glitch in their ordering system" and that the game was unintentionally oversold.
On the Namco Bandai forums, reps for Digital River write that customers who purchased a deluxe copy of the game before Jan. 17 should still receive their orders. But for others, the status of their order may be less clear.
"If you placed your order on January 17 before the inventory was exhausted, you should have received an email notification stating that your order is being fulfilled," wrote a Digital River customer service rep. "If you placed your order on January 17 after the inventory was exhausted, you should have received an email notification yesterday from Digital River stating that your order was canceled and that you will not be receiving Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch – Wizard's Edition. Please be assured that your payment will be refunded."
Namco urges customers to call Digital River's customer service line at 952-392-2057 to learn more about the status of their order.
Announced last summer, the $99.99 "Wizard's Edition" of Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch comes with a copy of the game, a 300-page Wizard's Companion book and a plush doll of the character Drippy.
