Penny Arcade's On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness 4 is set for a spring 2013 release on Xbox Indie Games and PC, according to an interview with the developers published in IGN.
Hothead Games developed the series' first two entries in 2008. Zeboyd took over development in 2011 and released Penny Arcade's On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness 3 in 2012.
The final installment in the series will allow the developers to put "our own take on the series," Zeboyd's Bill Stiernberg said.
"With the fourth game, Penny Arcade actually flew us up to Seattle and we had a major brainstorming session over a few days as we took Jerry [Holkins'] basic ideas and fleshed them out into something that we feel would make for an awesome game," he said. "We had a lot more creative control over how the game and the story turned out with this one."
