Killzone: Mercenary will release in North America on Sept. 17, 2013, developer Guerilla Games announced today on the PlayStation Blog.
The studio released a brand new trailer to accompany the release date announcement. The 1:22 minute trailer for the upcoming PlayStation Vita first-person shooter shows off some of the missions players will undertake as well as in-game use of the Vita's touchscreen (players can swipe at the screen to knife enemies).
Designed specifically for the Vita, Killzone: Mercenary takes place after the original Killzone and revisits many of the events from the Killzone trilogy. Guerilla Games says it offers "a full Killzone experience in a portable package" and is complete with missions, replay challenges, special objectives and a multiplayer mode that can be played across six maps with up to eight players.
