Irrational Games and Harmonix veterans bring the time-travelling monsters of Dreadline to Kickstarter

Irrational Games and Harmonix veterans Bryn Bennett and Steven Kimura are taking their monster-riddled PC title Dreadline to Kickstarter in order to raise $167,000 to aid in the development of the title, the developers announced today.

Dreadline, in development by the duo's indie studio Eerie Canal Entertainment, was first announced in May. The upcoming single-player game is described as a squad-based RPG in which the player takes control of a group of monsters who take down humans doomed to die during various historical calamities, such as the sinking of the Titanic.

Eerie Canal plans to feature nine playable monsters and seven historical calamities in the game, with a scheduled release window of August 2013. However, additional Kickstarter funding will help in the creation of more monsters, a Mac and iOS port and cutscene cartoons like the one seen in the game's original teaser trailer.

Dreadline has been in development for just under one year and is currently in a playable state.
