Corpse Party: Book of Shadows gets new trailer, levels detailed ahead of Jan. 15 release

Corpse Party: Book of Shadows, a sequel to survival horror/visual novel/adventure game Corpse Party, is the subject of a trailer released today showcasing the sequel's characters, dialogue and spooky story.

According to the game's website, the sequel builds on the narrative of Corpse Party, following many of the same characters. A post on the PlayStation Blog by Tom Lipschultz, a localization specialist at Xseed Games, explains that each of the game's eight chapters tells a self-contained story, many of which are entwined with the first game. Lipschultz offers spoiler-free overviews of each chapter from "Seal," where players are introduced to the "alternate universe" in which multiple chapters take place, to the unlockable final chapter, "Blood Drive."

Corpse Party: Book of Shadows is scheduled for a Jan. 15 North American PlayStation Store release on PlayStation Vita and PlayStation Portable for $19.99. It will launch in Europe "shortly thereafter." You can check out a brief trailer above.
