Third '7 Wonders of Crysis 3' episode goes back in time to illustrate 'Cause and Effect'

The third episode of Crytek's 7 Wonders of Crysis 3 series lets us watch as Crysis 3 protagonist Prophet destroys a group of CELL soldiers, except we get to see the action in reverse.

"Real power is understanding just two things: cause and effect," says the narrator, just before the video begins to play backward and we come to see the carnage that unfolds by Prophet's hand as the ultimate product of one opening act: blowing up a helicopter with a rocket launcher.

The 7 Wonders of Crysis 3 is a series of cinematic shorts put together by Crytek and Albert Hughes, co-director of From Hell and Menace 2 Society. The first two episodes are "Hell of a Town" and "The Hunt." You can also check out five still images from "Cause and Effect" above.

Crysis 3 is set for release on Windows PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on Feb. 19. Check out our interview with Crytek from GDC Europe 2012, and our hands-on preview from E3 2012.
