New Wii Party U gameplay trailer is all about the minigames
A new Wii Party U gameplay trailer that debuted earlier today on the Nintendo Direct presentation shows off a handful of the various minigames to be played face-to-face with one’s friends.
The glimpses of each game are fairly brief, but the trailer includes things like knitting, tank battles, slot-car racing and ninja competitions.

The trailer, which debuted today as a part of the Nintendo Direct presentation, shows both the game’s standard Olympic events like speed-skating and ski-jumping as well as the Dream events, which are less realistic and would be unlikely to show up at the actual Sochi Olympics.

The free demo will go up in the Nintendo 3DS eShop at the conclusion of the Nintendo Direct. Dual Destinies itself will be released Oct. 24 exclusively on the eShop for $29.99 in the U.S. and €24.99 in Europe.

The first, the Collect Treasure pack, will be released later today in the Nintendo eShop, and a second round will be released at a later date. According to the official Pikmin 3 website, Mission Packs will retail for $1.99.

Nintendo said in August that it planned to launch Tropical Freeze on Dec. 6, 2013. In Europe, the game will now launch some time in 2014.
“In order to deliver the optimum gaming experience, we need a little more time for development of this title,” said Iwata. “We would like to apologize for this delay, and hope you understand.”

Sega’s iconic blue hedgehog is back for another round of Super Smash Bros., Nintendo president Satoru Iwata announced today during a Nintendo Direct presentation.
Sonic the Hedgehog will reprise his appearance in Nintendo’s brawler franchise for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS. The “blue blur,” as Iwata referred to him, will appear alongside Princess Peach, Mario, Luigi and Toon Link, as well as series newcomers the Animal Crossing Villager, Wii Fit Trainer and Mega Man.
