Major League Gaming will raise the profile of Dota 2 in its lineup over the next several months, with plans including the creation of a $210,000 league in North America for the game, the company announced today.
MLG to run $210K North American Dota 2 league in 2014

MLG’s North American Dota 2 league will run for the first half of the year. It will begin with League Play on Jan. 6, 2014, with four “seasons” for $15,000 each over the first five months of the year. The league will end in a $150,000 tournament at the MLG Championship, which will take place in Anaheim, Calif., from June 22-24. The top four teams from this November’s MLG Championship in Columbus, Ohio, will be invited to next year’s tournament.
Starting tomorrow, Oct. 2, MLG will air Dota 2 programming on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 6 p.m. ET on the company’s website. MLG will also feature Dota 2 on the company’s 2014 Pro Circuit.
