World 1-2: The Complete Collection, a three-disc set of music from the composers of numerous beloved games, is now available in both digital and physical forms, publisher Koopa Soundworks announced yesterday.
The package contains the two-disc album World 1-2 and an additional disc, World 1-2: Encore. Both albums feature original compositions as well as remixes of well-known music from video games such as Super Mario World and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Musicians featured in the collection include Mega Man and Mighty No. 9 composer Manami Matsumae, Journey composer Austin Wintory and Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka.
"What makes World 1-2 more than a simple collaborations album is the diversified talents found in it," said Mohammed Taher, the collection's executive producer, in a press release yesterday. "While the roster features international talent (U.S., Europe, Middle East and Japan), it's not about one game or one nation or even one genre — but performing in unison for the love of games and music."
Interested parties can pick up a digital copy of the 34-track collection for $16, or purchase a limited-edition retail version with fold-out packaging for $24, on Koopa Soundworks' Bandcamp page. You can stream the album from Bandcamp below.
