London shooter Extraction's beta launches today

Nexon has launched the closed beta for its free-to-play multiplayer first-person shooter, Extraction.

Developed by Splash Damage, Extraction is set in the aftermath of an attack on London, featuring soldiers battling over information and territory. "Players choose from dozens of unique Merc roles with different playing styles and abilities, and must work as teams to defeat their opponents by defending or attacking key objectives," according to Nexon.

Splash Damage is best known for its work with id on Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory and Enemy Territory: Quake Wars and is also working on Batman: Arkham Origins' multiplayer gameplay.

The closed beta will test the game's various modes and locations. Players will be able to unlock a variety of units. Chosen closed beta participants will be invited in waves, with the initial batch going out today. Redemption instructions have been set up online.
