Square Enix has established a new committee of key developers to reportedly oversee the ongoing quality of the Final Fantasy franchise.
Square Enix founds ‘Final Fantasy Committee’ to oversee franchise

According to a report from Japanese site FF-Reunion, the committee consists of Naoki Yoshida, director of Dragon Quest: Monster Battle games and Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn; Hajime Tabata, director of Final Fantasy Type-0 and Final Fantasy 7 spin-offs Before Crisis and Crisis Core; Motomu Toriyama, director of the Final Fantasy 13 series; and Yoshinori Kitase, longtime series producer and director of Final Fantasy 7 and Final Fantasy 8.
Veteran character designer and creative producer Tetsuya Nomura is reportedly not involved — or involved in a limited capacity.
A Square Enix representative confirmed the existence of the committee, but did not comment on specifics or confirm the members involved. The publisher promised “more information shortly” on the committee’s existence.
