Microsoft will sponsor a free Xbox Live Gold weekend in North America Oct. 4-6, according to a recent post on Xbox Wire.
During that time, apps like HBO GO and Netflix that normally live behind the Gold paywall and multiplayer gaming will available for all to use in U.K, the U.S. and many other countries, which are listed in the link above. Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Columbia and Mexico will have their Xbox Live Gold weekend Oct. 11-14, while Japan's will take place Nov. 7-10.
Earlier this year, Microsoft announced that Xbox Live Gold subscribers would receive two free games a month, and those who subscribe to the service can download Halo 3 until mid-October. Gold subscriptions will also carry over to the Xbox One, when it launches Nov. 22.
