Xbox One headset adapter reportedly launching in 2014

The adapter for current-gen and new third-party headsets for Microsoft's next-gen console, Xbox One, will not be available until 2014, CVG reports.

Announced in July, the adapter allows Xbox One owners to use current-gen and third-party headsets with the console. Earlier this week, licensed headset maker Turtle Beach announced that it would not release the XO Four and XO Seven, its third-party headsets, until Q1 2014.

"The Xbox One headset adapter, being built by Microsoft and provided to Turtle Beach for inclusion with new gaming headsets, will not be available until early 2014," the press release read.

We have reached out to Microsoft for comment and will update accordingly.

Microsoft said previously that the adapter would not come bundled with the console, which launches Nov. 22. CVG confirmed with Turtle Beach, however, that the adapter will be included with the headset.
