A new video promoting Sony's PlayStation 4 takes the viewer back to the halcyon days of 1995.
In 1995, Bill Clinton was the President of the United States, the Internet became fully privatized with the launch of America Online and Prodigy, the comic strip Calvin and Hobbes ended and Sony launched its first PlayStation console in every region besides Japan (where it had launched in December of 1994). In the video, two friends put Tekken into their little gray console and begin to play.
Time passes, the millennium ends and Sony has a new console in town, the PlayStation 2. The same two friends in the same room boot up Resident Evil 4, and so the video continues through the era of the PlayStation 3 to the present day.
The PS4 will hit North America on Nov. 15 and Europe on Nov. 29.
