A new trailer gives a complete overview of Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag, which launches on current-gen platforms next week.
The trailer is a broad introduction to the game's setting, characters and systems: In the early 18th century, the growing prosperity in the transatlantic trade between the New World and the Old led to the rise of piracy. Edward Kenway, a Welsh privateer, came to the Caribbean to seek his fortune and wound up the captain of a ship, the Jackdaw.
In keeping with the historical fiction narrative of Assassin's Creed, the trailer introduces characters both real (infamous pirates like Anne Bonny and Edward "Blackbeard" Teach) and fictional (Kenway and his first mate Adewale).
The trailer also shows off the game's various systems like naval combat, underwater exploration, hunting and whaling. Many of these are likely to be familiar with viewers who have kept up with Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed 4 trailers and information, so this video serves as a general overview for those who haven't.
Assassin's Creed 4 hits Wii U, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on Oct. 29, comes to Windows PC on Nov. 19, and will be a launch title for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
