Batman: Arkham Origins launch trailer ruins Bruce Wayne's Christmas

The launch trailer for Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment's third Batman: Arkham title indicates that Batman won't be having a great holiday season.

In a time before Arkham Asylum and Arkham City, wealthy supervillain Black Mask puts a price on the head of the Bat. Any criminal, whether street thug or superpowered mastermind, who can eliminate Batman will be a very wealthy man or woman for the rest of his or her life. The streets erupt in anarchy, and despite his faithful butler Alfred's reminder that tonight is Christmas Eve, Batman opts to trade eggnog and presents for punches and more punches.

The rest of the trailer shows some of the game's brawling combat including boss fights against DC Universe baddies like Bane and Deathstroke.

Arkham Origins hits Wii U, Windows PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 this Friday, Oct. 25.
