A Luigi-themed Nintendo 2DS system may see a retail release soon, according to photos obtained by Kotaku.
Report: Luigi-themed Nintendo 2DS spotted (update)
The images, obtained by the publication via a tipster called Matthew, depict Nintendo 2DS packaging featuring Luigi graphics and a 2DS system adorned with an impressed silhouette of the character.
A 30th Anniversary Luigi-themed 3DS XL bundle launched in Japan on July 18 for 22,800 yen (approximately $226). The Luigi-themed bundle, announced during a Japanese Nintendo Direct in March, included an SD card containing Mario & Luigi: Dream Team game.
We have reached out to Nintendo for information on the Luigi-themed 2DS’ pricing and expected regions.
Update: A Nintendo spokesperson told Polygon that the company doesn’t have anything to announce at this time.
