A launch trailer for Capcom's newest courtroom adventure Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies introduces the major characters and gameplay systems.
Returning to the courtroom's defense bench is Phoenix Wright, the legendary defense attorney who was disbarred and disgraced but managed to clear his name with the help of his hot-headed, less experienced deuteragonist Apollo Justice. The two have different methods of drawing out the truth; Phoenix can perceive invisible "psyche-locks" on the hearts of those with something to hide, whereas Apollo is adept at finding a witness' nervous tics when they're not being entirely truthful.
Joining them on the defense is sidekick Athena Cykes, who can analyse peoples' emotions and who believes that her field of analytical psychology will revolutionize the courtroom. Standing across from them, however, is Prosecutor Simon Blackquill, a man serving time for murder but serving his duties in the court nonetheless. Both sides will rely on the testimony of Detective Bobby Fullbright, a man with a fervent zeal for justice (the concept, not Apollo).
This game is the first in the series to include voice acting beyond the usual exclamations of "Objection!" and "Hold it!" and the trailer shows off the characters' voices from Phoenix and Apollo to returning Prosecutor Miles Edgeworth.
Dual Destinies is now available as a download-only title in the Nintendo 3DS eShop.
