Microsoft’s Xbox One will support eight-player party chat when the console launches next month, a Microsoft spokesperson told Game Informer.
Xbox One will support eight-player party chat

This number is the same as what the Xbox 360 supports, and mirrors the number that the PlayStation 4 allows in its Party Voice Chat.
Microsoft told Polygon earlier this year that the Xbox One’s in-game chat and Party Chat will be powered by Skype, “which improves voice quality during multiplayer game sessions.” Skype integration also means players can call any of their Skype contacts for voice or video chat exclusively, or while playing a game.
The company confirmed in August of this year that Xbox One users will not be able to voice chat with friends on an Xbox 360 “for a variety of technical reasons.”
