Assassin's Creed 4 art book shows Caribbean diversity

The Art of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag is released on Oct. 29, with a $34.95 price. According to Titan, the book's publisher, it offers "intricately detailed environments and finely honed and evocative historical re-imaginings," including "the game's vast nautical gameplay, and its amazing range of locations, characters and action." The Art of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag is a 192 page hardback written by Paul Davies.

Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag is set in the age of Caribbean piracy, and is due to be released at the end of this month for current consoles.

"My objective with Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag was to create a very fresh and moving experience on the artistic side," said the game's art director. Raphael Lacoste. "We have the chance to explore more than 50 unique locations in this game and this was the opportunity to give them specific flavors and have a very dense and varied immersion. We are not doing the usual caricatured version of piracy but a more grounded and realistic interpretation of history."
