Xbox One TV ad lures you with mechs, undead, Spock

A new television commercial for Microsoft's Xbox One alludes to a handful of the next-generation console's upcoming games, including a mech from Respawn Entertainment's Titanfall and an appearnce by Steven Gerrard in FIFA 14.

The commercial is a string of appearances by figures seeking to beckon players into their media — including Zachary Quinto's Spock from the Star Trek reboot, a zombie who doesn't quite have his things together and a host of Roman soldiers.

Xbox One will launch on Nov. 22 in the United States along with Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, the U.K. and Spain. The console will launch in 2014 in a handful of European territories and Japan.

Sony's latest commercial for the PlayStation 4, set to launch on Nov. 15, featured a musical number peppered with references to company's own slate of first-party titles.
