The strategy game set in space originally launched on mobile devices earlier this year. In the game, players are tasked with keeping the sun alive by navigating their little rocket through galaxies, collecting plasma and firing it into the sun to fuel its flames.
Players have to approach the game's levels strategically because, aside from challenges like imploding stars, supernovas and asteroid fields, resources like rocket fuel are limited. It then becomes important to use the gravitation pull of nearby planets to help fling the rocket across the universe, rather than waste fuel trying to fly from location to location.
Solar Flux has more than 80 levels spread across four different galaxies. The game is normally priced at $9.99, but until Oct. 31 it is $7.99. Polygon's preview of the mobile version of the game can be read here.
