The Kickstarter campaign for Shantae: Half-Genie Hero, WayForward Technologies' next installment in its platformer series, ended today with $776,084, nearly twice its $400,000 funding goal.
According to a post today on the Kickstarter blog, WayForward also received $35,878 in donations through PayPal, bringing the total pledged to $811,962.
PayPal funding will remain open, and any additional funding received will be applied to the remaining stretch goal: fully animated cut scenes for Shantae: Half-Genie Hero. Stretch goals already met during the crowdfunding campaign will bring Risky Mode, which allows you to play as Shantae's arch nemesis, Risky Boots, two bonus chapters and three costumes that will rebalance stats and add extra moves.
Shantae: Half-Genie Hero is slated for an Oct. 2014 release on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Wii U, Windows PC and PlayStation Vita.
