A new Pokemon game featuring Pikachu is currently in development, according to a blurb for Pokemon Company president Tsunekazu Ishihara's upcoming television appearance on Japanese TV show NHK Professional: Shigoto no Ryuugi, Gematsu reports.
On the NHK website, Ishihara is mentioned to have begun development on a new Pokemon title earlier this summer.
"This summer, Ishihara started development on a never before seen game," the description reads, as translated by Gematsu. "It's a new game featuring the very popular character Pikachu in a bold way. There is concern, however, that if it's bad the long loved character would lose popularity in the blink of an eye."
Ishihara will appear on NHK on Oct. 28 where more information is likely to be revealed.
