Ryse: Son of Rome season pass includes four multiplayer content packs

Ryse: Son of Rome players will be able to purchase a season pass covering four add-on content packs for the action title's multiplayer component, Microsoft and developer Crytek revealed today.

The season pass will cost $19.99, a 25 percent discount from purchasing each pack separately. The four DLC bundles, set to launch in the months following the release of Ryse, will add 14 multiplayer maps, six skins for fighters, access to a new tier of weapons and armor, new level events and an additional multiplayer mode.

Season pass buyers will also receive exclusive in-game items for Ryse, including a unique sword and shield for use in multiplayer that will give fighters bonus abilities.

Polygon spoke with Crytek during Gamescom in August for more details on the game's gladitorial multiplayer mode, which we learned was instated after the studio scrapped Ryse's original PvP mode.

Ryse: Son of Rome will launch exclusively for the Xbox One alongside the console on Nov. 22. A live-action webseries, Ryse: Son of Rome — The Fall will begin airing exclusively on Machinima beginning Nov. 5.
