Dead Island's backwards trailer gets a live-action remake

A video produced by Machinima recreates the instantly-iconic Dead Island trailer using real actors.

The original trailer made media waves right away following its 2011 debut, as it told a poignant human tale in innovative non-chronological order. The trailer's plot, about a young girl on vacation with her parents where they're attacked by zombies, unraveled through two different timelines: One in normal forward-moving time with the girl fleeing from the undead hordes, and one in reverse showing her ultimate fate and how she got there.

This live-action version, directed by BJ McDonnell, is a shot-for-shot remake of that trailer down to the choreography and characters' outfits. As you might imagine, the violence of the digital version of the trailer is somewhat harder to watch with real-life actors.
