The Forest gameplay trailer shows you what lurks in the woods

The latest trailer for indie survival horror game The Forest shows off early alpha gameplay footage of the upcoming Windows PC and Oculus Rift release.

The short trailer offers a glimpse into the peaceful life you lead throughout the day and the strange and eery occurances at night. The game is in development by Vancouver studio SKS Games, best known for its work on Tron Legacy.

Players begin the game alone in a forest, the sole survivor of a devastating plane crash. You are required to cut down trees for wood, build fires and scavenge for food to survive; however, as you continue to explore the eerie forest and its connected network of underground lakes and caves, you will also need to set traps and learn to defend yourself against strange and cannibalistic mutants.
