IGF 2014 breaks participation record with more than 1,000 indie entries

The Independent Games Festival, an annual indie competition held during the Game Developers Conference, received more than 1,000 entries — a record number of both student and main submissions, organizers announced today.

According to the post, nearly 350 of those entries fill the student category. Submissions include gunslinger title Westerado, Kickstarted roguelike-like Risk of Rain and Oculus Rift title Anamnesis. Other submissions hail from colleges nation-wide, including the University of Southern California, University of Ohio and University of Miami.

More entries are viewable through IGF's website. For a look at 2013's finalists, check out our StoryStream.

Student Showcase winners will be announced in January 2014, while the announcement for Best Student Game winner will take place at GDC 2014.
