A trailer for indie Oculus Rift-powered horror title The Forest starts out beautiful and serene, but it doesn't last for long.
The first part of the trailer shows the player character venturing through the titular forest, cutting down trees with which to build a log fence around a cabin. At the point where the player is shown creating a monument out of human body parts, however, the tone rapidly changes with the player shown battling crazed cannibals with a lighter and a wood-chopping axe.
The Forest is currently slated for a launch in late 2013.
