Diablo 3 on PlayStation 4 supports Remote Play

Diablo 3 on the PlayStation 4 will support Remote Play via the PlayStation Vita, the game's official twitter account confirmed today.

The tweet was accompanied with a photo (above) showing that the PlayStation 4 version of the game can be played on the handheld via a wi-fi connection. The PS4 version is slated for release in 2014 as the Ultimate Evil Edition, which consists of both the original game and the Reaper of Souls expansion.

Assassin's Creed 4 on PS4 also features Remote Play, can you read Polygon's hands-on preview of the feature here. Sylvain Trottier, associate producer on the next-gen versions of Black Flag, told Polygon that as Remote Play is built into the console's hardware, it doesn't hog any system resources.

PS4's lead architect, Mark Cerny recently told Polygon that the console supports Remote Play via the PlayStation Vita because the functionality is part of PlayStation DNA.

"Part of that was looking at the Wii U and saying this is our DNA — we did Remote Play first the PSP. We should be working with this stuff more," Cerny said, referring to Nintendo Wii U's Remote Play function used in conjunction with the console's GamePad.
