Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes has exclusive PlayStation content

Kojima Productions has something special planned for PlayStation fans for the release of Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes, according to a tweet from series creator Hideo Kojima.

Earlier today, Kojima tweeted a photo of his interview room at Sony's PlayStation 4 event in New York, capturing a bit of a television screen showing Ground Zeroes. The words "Exclusive content for PlayStation platform" appear onscreen, though Kojima did not elaborate on what that exclusive may be.

In the past, Metal Gear Solid games have included platform-specific mascots, like the monkeys of Ape Escape in Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater and Nintendo's Yoshi in the 3DS port of that game.

Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes is the prologue to Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain. It's coming to PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 in spring 2014, as well as Xbox 360 and Xbox One. On current-generation platforms it will cost $19.99 for a downloadable copy and $29.99 for a physical copy. Next-generation versions will be available as a download for $29.99.
