Sony has posted a troubleshooting guide for PlayStation 4 owners experiencing problems with "blinking blue lights," which signifies TV connectivity or hardware problems.
When a PS4 is correctly set up and connected, the light along its casing should flash blue and then white. In the case of malfunctioning PS4s, however, the light continues to flash blue. According to the support page, associated problems include no video or audio output or consoles powering down after the system's light blinks blue. Possible causes of the problem include TV compatibility or issues with the PS4's power supply, hard drive or hardware.
The support page recommends turning off the PS4 completely and holding the power button for at least seven seconds, disconnecting the system's AC power cord or checking for visibly damaged parts.
Further problems will require PS4 owners to contact Sony.
The PlayStation 4 launched in North America Nov. 15. The system sold more than one million units on its first day.
