Xbox One SmartGlass app now available for Windows Phones

The Xbox One SmartGlass companion app is now available through the Windows Phone store, according to the app listing.

The 13 MB app, available for free, can be used both in the living room near the Xbox One console as well as remotely on the go.

While at home, Xbox One players can use SmartGlass to navigate the console using the touchscreen and keyboard on a mobile device. SmartGlass can also be used to control media and set top boxes, browse the internet on the television screen and utilize a number of dedicated companion apps for channels and video games.

When not sitting in front of the Xbox One, players can still use SmartGlass to browse and pin content for viewing on the console. Through SmartGlass, players can also track achievements, message friends, watch game clips recorded by the Xbox One and browse for game helping tips.

Windows Phone users can download SmartGlass for Xbox One here. SmartGlass versions for iOS and Android are coming this holiday.
