Sound Shapes DLC brings art, albums and sounds today

Sound Shapes is receiving new downloadable content today that brings new art, levels and sounds to Queasy Games' musical platformer.

According to a PlayStation Blog post by Sony Santa Monica senior producer Zach Wood, five new Milkcrate levels or "albums" will be available, some created by two unnamed "head honchos at Sony" and others by employees of Sony Santa Monica, who've worked on the God of War and PixelJunk series, The Unfinished Swan and Journey. They'll be available today with a free update.

Two new Sound Packs will also be available today: the Vocoder Sound Pack with its "electro funk synthetic voices" and the Old School Sound Pack with its "flute loops and jazz bass." You can hear each in the trailer above and purchase them for $0.99 each.

Developers will also release Sound Shapes' first art pack today. The City Art Pack will let players add building, bridges, graffiti and more to the Beck Cities level. It will also be available for $0.99.

Sound Shapes is available for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita, and through Sony's cross-buy program, you can buy it once and play it on all platforms. Check out Polygon's Sound Shapes review to learn more about the PS3 and PS Vita versions.
