Hunicke, Hanke, Hawkins set for DICE Summit

Annual gaming conference DICE has announced new speakers for its 2014 roster including Robin Hunicke, John Hanke and Trip Hawkins.

The DICE Summit, organized by the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences, is due to take place in February in Las Vegas. This year's event has a theme of 'The New Golden Age.'

Robin Hunicke (pictured) is co-founder at Funomena, previously producer of Journey. She will talk about a "feeling-first approach to building games."

John Hanke, the founder of Niantic Labs at Google, will talk about the company's augmented reality mulltiplayer game Ingress, which brings video game-style play into the real world. An Ingress-game will be played out among delegates at the event, using smartphones.

Trip Hawkins is the founder of Electronic Arts and is now creating educational games following a spell running his mobile outfit Digital Chocolate.

Other speakers include David Helgason of Unity, former Xbox man Ed Fries, and Sundance DiGiovanni of MLG.
