Helm's Deep, the fifth expansion to The Lord of the Rings Online, is launching today in North America and Europe, publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced today.
It was originally set for release Nov. 18, but was delayed because a data center run by developer Turbine Inc. suffered a power outage over the weekend.
The update to the long-running massively multiplayer online role-playing game goes for $39.99 on the game's website, and a Premium Edition is available for $59.99. Helm's Deep focuses on Rohan, the grassy realm from The Lord of the Rings, with five new areas in western Rohan. The expansion contains massive battles in which players will fight alongside Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli and King Theoden against Saruman's armies of Uruk-hai.
