The script for Columbia Pictures' upcoming Gran Turismo film will be penned by Alex Tse, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
Tse previously co-wrote the screenplay for Zack Snyder's Watchmen movie adaptation, and he has also worked on a script for the remake of The Crow.
Sony confirmed this past August that a film based on the Gran Turismo series was in development. According to series creator Kazunori Yamauchi, the movie will be inspired by the gamer-to-racer reality series GT Academy, and specifically, by the story of its first winner, Lucas Ordoñez.
Yamauchi is also the subject of his own Gran Turismo film, a documentary about his career called Kaz: Pushing the Virtual Divide. For more on Yamauchi, check out our recent interview with him.
