Xbox One must connect to Xbox Live for day one update; Xbox One ships without Dolby support, HDMI audio is in beta

The Xbox One will need to connect to Xbox Live for the console's day one update. A Microsoft rep confirmed with us that the Emergency Offline Update, which allows users to apply the update with a PC and USB flash drive rather than connect to the Internet on the One, is not an alternate way to install the update. We also learned the Xbox One will ship without Dolby encoding support — but it will come to the console post-launch.
