FIFA 14 crashes caused by booting up with two controllers, says EA

Booting up FIFA 14 on Xbox One with two controllers connected may be causing the game to crash on startup, according to a post on the EA Sports support page.

According to the post, "using two separate controllers, both assigned to user profiles, and then using controller two to navigate the bootflow when FIFA 14 is loading can result in a crash." EA Sports is currently working to resolve this issue, but in the meantime players can utilize a workaround: players should have no issue when using only one controller to navigate FIFA 14's bootflow. Once in the main menu, players can they turn on a second controller.

Additionally, some players are having other bootflow issues. Suspending the console while on the title screen in the Xbox One bootflow will prevent players from being able to access online features after unsuspending the console. Players have been advised against suspending the console while on the title screen.

According to the post, a Day One Update is on the way that will fix the controller bug and bootflow issues. Additional fixes are also in the pipeline to address Co-op Seasons crashes and improve Kinect voice controls.

FIFA 14 launched this morning for the Xbox One. The game was released for PlayStation 4 alongside the console on Nov. 15 and for previous-generation consoles in September.
