GameStop will offer discounts on its stock of video games across consoles and handhelds as well as two previous-generation hardware bundles this Black Friday, the company announced today.
The Xbox 360 bundle includes a 250 GB console, Halo 4 and the Tomb Raider reboot for $199. The PlayStation 3 bundle comes with a 250 GB system as well as Naughty Dog's The Last of Us and Batman: Arkham Origins for $199 as well. Both bundles will only be available on Black Friday.
GameStop reports that in a survey of its PowerUp Rewards members, the most-wanted games this holiday season are Assassins Creed 4: Black Flag, Batman: Arkham Origins, Battlefield 4, Call of Duty: Ghosts and Grand Theft Auto 5. In response, GameStop will offer discounts on many of these titles, such as offering Battlefield 4 for $24.99 and other games like Just Dance 4 for $14.99.
Stores participating in the company's Black Friday promotions will open at 12:01 a.m. on this Friday, Nov. 29. GameStop noted that it will not be open on Thanksgiving Day — many retailers start their Black Friday sales the night before — to "ensure that all its store associates are able to celebrate the holiday with their families and get rested up for what is sure to be an exciting Black Friday," thanks to the recent launches of PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
"Out of respect for our store associates and their families, GameStop made the business decision to not open our more than 4,200 U.S. retail stores on Thanksgiving," vice president of store operations and strategic initiatives Jason Cochran said in a press statement. "We will be opening the majority of our stores at midnight to offer customers our Black Friday promotions."
More information on GameStop's Black Friday sale will be available in the coming days on its dedicated page for the annual shopping event.
