Jellygrade reveals first gameplay footage of 'dawn of life' sim for iPad

Former SimCity creative director Ocean Quigley has released the first gameplay footage of Jellygrade's upcoming "dawn of life" simulation title for the iPad.

Narrated by Quigley, the gameplay video demonstrates how organisms interact within the fluid simulation. The game is focussed on creating a life within a fluid environment and is loosely based on life on Earth, according to the developer. It will feature simple chemotrophic ecosystems to complex ones with a myriad of interacting organisms.

Quigley left Maxis and Electronic Arts this year and announced in July that he was setting up the new studio called Jellygrade along with SimCity lead architect Andrew Willmott and lead gameplay engineer Dan Moskowitz.

At the time, Quigley wrote that the trio love making simulations and revealed that the studio's first title is "about the dawn of life on earth; about lava, water, rock and the emergence of the first primordial creatures."
