XGen Studios' Mars mining game, Super Motherload, is now available on PlayStation 3, the developer announced today.
An enhanced version of the game rolled out alongside the PlayStation 4's release Nov. 15. Both versions are available in North America for $14.99 with cross-buy functionality. For instance, those who purchase the the PS3 version will receive the PS4 version for free if they choose to upgrade their console.
Europe will receive Super Motherload Nov. 27 and Nov. 29 for the PS3 and PS4, respectively. The Windows PC version was approved approved for distribution on Valve's platform in June through Steam Greenlight.
Set on Mars during an alternate Cold-War era, Super Motherload is a couch cooperative "digging" game that supports one to four players. It features a procedurally-generated world, special abilities and customizable mining pods.
Super Motherload players are currently invited to create their own puzzles and submit them to the Super Motherload puzzle contest. The competition will be community-driven with the winning puzzles to be integrated into the game in a future update.
