European PS4 launch will see some PSN features go offline

A number of services on PlayStation Network will be turned off to ensure a smooth launch for PlayStation 4 in Europe, it was announced in an update on the European PlayStation blog.

According to the post, Sony expects a record number of PSN activity alongside the number of PS4 users across the U.S. Sony will disable PSN's "What's New" function that allows users to see their friend's PS4 activity including videos and trophies. Additionally the "Content Information Screen" will be disabled, a feature that shows friend activity within the game you are playing.

These features will be switched back on a few days later following the launch.
