A teaser trailer for Daedalic Entertainment's Blackguards sets a grim tone for a world that won't be saved by gallant knights.
"What happens when the only hope of a threatened world lies not with heroes in shining armor," reads the video's description on YouTube, "but in the hands of a band of misfits and criminals?" In addition to showing character art of dangerous-looking combatants, the trailer also shows some of the turn-based strategic gameplay.
Set on battlefields comprised of hex tiles, players in Blackguards can use not only their characters' spells and skills against enemies, but the battlefield itself: Enemies can be knocked into water or hit with environmental traps like falling chandeliers.
Blackguards hits Steam Early Access tomorrow, Nov. 7.
