Ex-Microsoft creative director Adam Orth on dealing with internet hate and toxicity

Adam Orth was the creative director at Microsoft Studios when he caused an "internet firestorm" by tweeting that he "didn't get the drama around having an 'always on' console." Four days later, Orth resigned from Microsoft. In his GDC Next talk yesterday, he spoke about how he dealt with the hate lobbed his way, discusses what he would have done differently and wraps up with the story of why the experience "turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to" him.

Why do we need new consoles?
