Age of Empires 2 HD receives first expansion with The Forgotten

Age of Empires 2 HD The Forgotten, the first expansion for Hidden Path Entertainment's update of '99s strategy title Age of Empires 2: The Age of Kings, is now available to download for Windows PC through Steam for $9.99.

The expansion introduces five additional civilizations and technologies, as well as four new campaigns and new game modes. It also includes shoutcast capabilities and streaming support through Twitch.tv.

The four new campaigns include Alaric, warrior king of the Goths; Sforza, the young mercenary captain; the port city of Bari 400 years after the collapse of the Roman Empire; and, Dracula, ruler of Wallachia in the mid-14th century.

The five new civilizations include Venice, Italy after the collapse of the Roman Empire; India; the icy planes of Eastern Europe post-Mongolian Golden Horde; Magyars and the mighty Black Army; and, the Incas against the invading Conquistadors.

Published by Microsoft Studios, Age of Empires 2 HD launched exclusively through Steam on April 9 for $19.99. The expansion and game are currently available as a bundle for $26.99, 10 percent off its original price of $29.99.
