PopCap will release a free multiplayer “Duel” mode for its recently released pick-up-and-play puzzle game, Peggle 2, producer Jared Neuss recently announced via Facebook.
Peggle 2 getting free Duel mode

Duel mode will allow players to compete against one another on the same board. According to Neuss, the team wanted to create an updated version of the original Duel mode in Peggle. Duels are also “just the beginning” of new content for the title.
“There are lots of surprises in store for Peggle 2 fans and we’ll be bringing you regular updates as we continue to expand and add to the world that we’ve built,” Neuss said. “In the meantime, we’d also like to get together with you for a community gaming night, where the Peggle dev team faces off against fans in a few friendly-and-not-at-all-incredibly-competitive rounds of Peg Party. More to come on that as we lock down dates and times.”
A release date for the mode has not yet been announced, though PopCap will release it “as soon as we possibly can.” Peggle 2 launched Dec. 9 for Xbox One. For more on the game, check out our review.
